Last week Helene Auramo (CEO) was in Turkey for the Woman at Work congress to talk about "Women Entrepreneurship in Finland". During the event she was delighted to received a Letter of Appreciation from the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Helene's main message in her presentation focused on these three issues: women role models, the Finnish grant system, and the learning process.
"We need more role models – especially women. When I started I wasn't aware of any role models in the Finnish internet industry. I hope more women become interested in this area."
"If you have a good idea for a company, just believe in yourself and do it. If entrepreneurship isn't meant for you, you'll soon find out. You can always quit, but at least in the end you will learn a lot, probably much more that you could have imagined. For me this has felt like a right path and I feel really lucky that I was brave enough to take the first step."
"In Finland we are very fortunate because we can get grants. Zipipop has happy to receive a number of government grants: 10,000 euros from Te-center & 37,000 euros from AVEK (Audiovisuaalisen Kulttuurin Edistämiskus)"
