Helene and Richard agree to start work on Zipipop.

20 March 2007

Zipi the feedback fish is born; whilst ill in bed Helene creates the defining image of Zipi.

11 June 2007

Zipipop receives a 2,000 euro grant from AVEK (Audivisuaalisen kulttuurin edistämiskeskus) for concepting.

19 June 2007

Zipipop moves into their first Arabus Business Incubator office.

1 July 2007

Taro Morimoto joins the team as a co-founder.

23 July 2007

Zipipop Ltd is established and the focus for the summer is the Zipi Event Organizer.

2 September 2007

Zipipop launches its first pilot application Friends Pad inside Facebook.

Helene appears on the front cover of Kylteri (the Helsinki School of Economics magazine) regarding a positive article focused primarily on Zipipop's Facebook activities.

Zipiopop is delighted to have Tuomas Laitanen join the team as the Art Director.

AVEK letter arrives confirming a 10,000 euro grant from Te-Keskus to help cover startup costs.

Just Facebook It! presentation. Zipipop talks at the Media Lab Demo Day on issues relating to developing for Facebook.

Mennäänkö yhdelle? (Going for One?) is realeased in Finnish. We made the app primarily as a way of geting together with our fellow students in the Taik (University of Art & Design Helsinki) Kipsari bar.

Baby Status Diary is realeased. This is a Zipipop 'do-search' project into macro blogging on Facebook.

Laika - What kind of dog are you? was our first 3rd party app created to promote an up-coming Finnish fashion accessories company.

Lomajengi, an app for finding your perfect travel mate is realeased. Made for Finnmatkat (the Finnish arm of the international travel operator TUI).

Helene and Richard finally received some new state-of-the-art Mac laptops after suffering with long antiquated computers (Richard's previous one was 6 years old and could not even play YouTube videos!)

Zipipop announces its first full-on mobile service codenamed Joinups which later becomes Zipiko to avoid confusion with services like Meetup.

3rd July 2008

Zipipop office moves downtown to Museokatu 42 in a beautiful part of Helsinki just a stone's throw from the centre.

4th July 2008

Zipipop wins Early Stage Start-up competition at Mobile 2.0 Europe in Barcelona for it's Zipiko service.
